Ten Thousand Times.

Ten Thousand Times, michael sean symonds

.

Everyone wants love but until we recognize We Are Love, it’s almost impossible to appreciate or even receive the true blessing of its nature.  Our quest for love is not something that can be gained or garnered, granted, given or lost; it does not involve merit or demerit.  We cannot find Love, we can only arrive at its doorstep by realizing it is a place we never left.

From the viewpoint of Awareness, Love is not something we find – it’s who & what We Are.  Love is always present, we just get caught up in a web of distorted thoughts & thinking which lead to the belief in a thinker that apparently lies outside & beyond Love or worse, Love for a reason.

The face of Love-in-life is to recognize that it never lies in outside things but instead, lies in the heart of one’s own Being.  From the vantage point of Awareness – As Awareness, we rest in a blanket of Love, we rest in the wisdom of Knowing the Love – I AM.  Love what You Are greatly, for what You Are, you have always essentially been.

The priest & the profit most often thrive in a marketplace absent of Love, bartering their wares of judgement, sacrifice & denial; filling to the brim, their tattered worn baskets of becoming.  Where Awareness is Aware, the practice of becoming comes to a rest; the face of Love reveals itSelf – as itSelf.  Love lies in the art of Being, where there is neither acceptance nor rejection of what is.

Were it not for confusion, we would see God has kissed us ten thousand times today & it’s only lunchtime!  We would see Love is not something that needs to be measured, martyred or mastered – that the Atheist, the Christian, the Hindu, Muslim & Jew, all share equal opportunity in the feast of Love.

Too easily, we overlook the fact that Love is louder than the colour of our skin, the God we worship or the sex of the person we choose to marry.  Too easily, we forget that Loves ultimate victory is to remove anything unlike itSelf.  With Love, there is Grace – the clarity of seeing that Love is already/always present, in the midst of all experience; the realization we all dance on a colour-full-carpet, woven by the threads of Love – that indeed, there is no “other”, “object” or “world”.

Unrequited love forever seeks a place to land, for a thought of Love, can never be found in something that is loved – its life-throb ebbs & flows in the Being we already/always Are.  Love reveals itSelf innocently & effortlessly – as the One who seeks.

The Love story is always the same: the lover, in search of Love, misses the Love of the beloved that was already/always – here/now.  Where is that Love? It’s in the seeing: for in the seeing, the thinking, the being, the having & the doing are impregnated with the Love & sweetness of Being as it arises & subsides effortlessly & spontaneously here/now.

Love, always returns to Love; with simple & complete abandon, Love is recognized as an absence of “me” – the fulfillment of Knowing and Being Oneself here & now; here, the Love of the beloved is the impulse now.  Your task in life is not to search for Love – but Be it.  Rest As Awareness until ALL ideas about Love and anything unlike Love evaporate.

All I Can Truly Know.

All I Can Truly Know.jpg michael sean symonds

.

All I can truly know is the knowledge I have of Knowing-Self; it’s not something that can be known – but dwells As ever-present-Knowing.  If we truly want to comprehend wholeness, we cannot look to object, other or world; we need go no further than comprehension of our Essential-Nature-Self, as-it-already/always-is.

Something: The Poem…

“Something”

[The Poem]

By

michael sean symonds

.

Did you notice,

something is there.

Something simple and silent,

something awake and aware.

Something rarely noticed,

something ever at hand;

the timeless presence of Being

is already

there.

.

Did you notice,

something is there.

Something open and empty,

something fundamental and free.

Prior to words or notions,

prior to beliefs or ideas,

something naked and untouchable

is unmistakably

there.

.

When you were born,

it was there.

When you were frightened,

it was there.

When you were confused and angry,

joyful or sad,

it was also,

always

there.

.

Prior to philosophies of the mind,

it is ceaselessly there.

Without special effort,

Presence

is deliberately

there.

Beyond the sweet and sour,

beyond the ebb and flow.

Beyond thought or method,

beyond feeling or practice,

Presence

is precisely,

patiently,

plainly,

there.

.

Did you notice

awareness is there,

simple and silent,

awake and aware.

Previously unnoticed,

immediately at hand,

something remarkable

is choicelessly,

undeniably,

there.

.

Did you notice

awareness is there,

something open and empty,

something fundamental

and free.

Prior to words and notions,

prior to beliefs and ideas,

awareness is thoughtlessly,

wordlessly,

obviously,

there.

.

In the midst of all happening,

something is there.

Something still and silent

something spaciously aware.

Between bliss and anger,

between lust and joy,

something is irresistibly,

unquestionably

there.

.

Did you notice,

nothing is there!

Nothing

becomes something,

something

becomes nothing.

Constantly clear,

alert,

and available,

something
perfectly precious

is spontaneously

there.

.

Something is here that

is already aware,

between the “light” and the “dark”,

between the “in” and the “out”.

Without any search,

without any effort,

something is here

that is already

aware.

.

Here by itself

behind the noise of knowledge.

Here by itself,

behind understanding.

Here by itself,

behind the noise of perception;

a sense of is-ness

is indescribably there;

the stillness of Being

that is already

aware.

.

Who is that you

that is endlessly there,

the one that watches,

the one who is aware?

Naturally quiet,

innocently aware,

it’s the stainless you

who is here,

and surely

aware.

.

Untouched by emotion

undivided by perception,

you’re free of thought and memory,

feeling and association.

.

Fully awake,

alert,

and available,

it’s here by itself,

the ONE that’s aware.

Without need or motive,

without affirmation or care,

it’s here by itself,

the ONE that’s aware.

.

In the midst of this now

you are here and aware;

undoubtedly always,

here and aware.

.

Rest in the fact

you are here and aware;

always here,

always
aware.

.

Settle in the joy

you are here and aware,

always here,

always

aware.

Insight #84 ~ ZEN Shredding
December 19, 2010

Embrace the great unlearning.

Most of us spend our lives accumulating knowledge of this and that.  Whether it’s “spiritual” knowledge, “worldly” knowledge or the easiest way to slide down a mogul field, there will be a time when all of it will be surrendered as concept only.  The one reality exists beyond the level of the intellect and mind.

Extended commentary:

Such is the perceived paradox; we hunger, we strive and we seek; we look for what appears to be missing in life and in doing so miss the obvious.  With effort and conviction, with unyielding zeal, we cling and grasp to our ideas about God, spirituality, happiness, purpose and meaning.

We toil night and day for all that is “good” and “righteous” and in our search for what appears to be absent in our lives, we overlook what is already present.  We collect and we accumulate, we invest and we deal in all manner of ways, questing for things; questing for fleeting experiences of wholeness and perfection that is never really found and is never, ever,  permanent.

The mind would rather spend its time seeking and searching, collecting and gathering trinkets of something than resting in the stillness of nothing.  Lost in the entertaining seduction of something, we squander the opportunity and privilege to rest in the simplicity and freedom of Being alone.  Caught up in stories of Karma and past lives, Kundalini and Chakras, we become voyeurs of the so-called mystery, not realizing that the mystery itself arises and subsides within THAT Being.

In unlearning, the goal if there was one, is awareness.  It cannot be found in knowledge of this and that although one may initially be hypnotized into believing it as such. In the great unlearning, the search is not in the finding or creation of paradise although the journey may begin as such.

The goal if there was one, is not even the pursuit or attainment of love; lofty and so very personal as it is. The great unlearning of radical spirituality asks us to consider that what we need or seek is what we already have, but may not know.  We stand instead on the periphery, we unknowingly stall in the doldrums of our conceptual, cognitive understanding.

In the presence {I AM} knowledge and understanding are irrelevant.  In the presence {I AM} there is a negation of all knowledge and all understanding that creates the space for simplicity of knowing.

In the presence {I AM} all ideas and notions, all perceptions and associations, all meaning and purpose, all happiness and joy, all pain and suffering, are negated instantly and spontaneously; relinquished for the unspoken and understated value of resting in the stillness of Being only.

In the great unlearning, it is seen that the sweetness of  ideas and thoughts, notions and beliefs about spirituality, can never replace or substitute the inherent value and reality of the presence; the one who is having those ideas, thoughts, notions or beliefs.

In the great unlearning, it is seen that the one who thinks and feels; the one who breathes, sees, and touches; the one who hears and dreams, is more important than what is thought, felt, breathed, seen, touched, heard or dreamed.

Thinking is here,

feeling is here,

breathing is here,

seeing is here,

touching is here,

hearing and dreaming is also here;

but what can be also noticed is who or what is, was, and will be there before, during, and after the rise and fall.

Watch the rise and fall.

Watch the one who is watching the rise and fall…

“You can be free today…” ~ Mooji
December 16, 2010

“We have the feeling that to get to truth we must work through something; some method, some process… untangle some knots, climb some mountains, sit in a cave, and then truth is the prize at the end of your striving… But awareness which is synonymous with truth is THAT already, within which the very striving and the attempt, and the practice arises and is perceived…”
